Make this year the year to maximize the efficiency of your home and fit more time for you.
Do you ever wish you had more time to do the things that bring you joy? Why not make this year the year to maximize the efficiency of your home so you have more time to do what you really love!
Start by simplifying your home – keep the things you love, and share or sell what you no longer need or want.
Then take all the things that are left, group like things together and find a spot for them. The key is to keep things picked up and put away – RIGHT AWAY! Finding what you need when you need it will save you time. You’ll find it makes a big difference to your busy day.
Try some of these ideas:
- Wrapping paper and gift bags. Store all of your wrapping paper, including Christmas wrap, gift bags, and tags, in one place. You can use plastic bins that are created for this purpose, or recycle an old hanging suit bag – perfect for rolls of paper.
- Cards & writing paper. Keep all of your cards and special paper in one place – including Christmas cards. Most of us write our Christmas cards long before we get the decorations out. Store these items where you can get to them. Don’t forget to have stamps on hand.
- Food. Organize your pantry by item – vegetables, pasta, fruits, snacks, or by shelf – breakfast, lunch, dinner, snacks. Dedicate a cupboard for baking and another for lunches so items that you need for these tasks are easy to find.
- Shoes. If you keep them in one place, you will be able to find them quickly and you won’t have them lying all over the house!
