Calling all high school teachers and students with a love for the environment!
Do you or your students have an interest in the environment and want to gain valuable first hand and hands on experience? Consider registering for Envirothon – a team competition that rewards students for learning about the natural world around them.
How it works: 10,000 students participate in Ontario Envirothon workshops, field trips and regional competitions in 24 Regional Envirothon events. Twenty-four Teams from across Ontario compete at a 4-day Provincial Envirothon Competition and 1 of those teams will represent Ontario at the North American Environthon Championships!
Participants can register as a team of 5 students who love science, the environment or being outdoors, as part of a classroom study, as a special project, through an extra-curricular club, in a special Envirothon club or as part of a community group.
Registration for the Ontario Envirothon is $350/team (inc. HST). Online registration ends April 5, but check with your area to see if registrations are accepted after this date.
Workshop dates: April 18, 2017 – Camp Samac (Durham Region), April 10, 2017 – Fleming College, Sutherland Campus (Peterborough/Kawartha/Northumberland), April 20, 2017 – Bill Fisch Forest Stewardship and Education Centre (York Region). www.forestsontario.ca/education/programs/ontario-envirothon/compete/regional-envirothon-competitions/
